SDI & HDMI Live Streaming Encoders

Three hardware encoders for the signal chains you actually run — HD-SDI, 4K 12G-SDI, and HDMI — all streaming H.265/H.264 over SRT, RTMP(S), and HLS, and all managed remotely through RemoteGenius. Plus a bridge for the devices you already own.

Choosing an SDI encoder

3G-SDI or 12G-SDI?

3G-SDI carries up to 1080p60 over a single coax run and is still the backbone of most broadcast camera chains, OB vans, and studio routers. If your cameras and switchers are HD, the 3G-SDI encoder is the right fit, and its loop-through keeps the untouched SDI signal flowing to the rest of the chain. 12G-SDI carries 4K60 on one cable. For UHD productions, 10-bit color, or on-board recording, choose the 4K 12G-SDI encoder.

When is HDMI enough?

HDMI is the natural choice for PTZ and prosumer cameras, presentation PCs, and compact switchers. It is not designed for long cable runs, so it suits sources sitting next to the encoder. The HDMI encoder offers the same 1080p60 H.265 pipeline as the 3G-SDI model in the same chassis.

SRT, RTMP(S), or HLS?

Use SRT for contribution over the public internet: it recovers lost packets and holds up on imperfect links. Use RTMP(S) when the destination is a streaming platform or a cloud switcher that only ingests RTMP. HLS suits direct playback in browsers. Every ReGen LIVE encoder speaks all three, plus RTSP and UDP, so the choice stays with the workflow, not the hardware. See how remote production teams use them.

Why remote management matters

An encoder in a stadium, a truck, or a remote site is only as useful as your ability to reach it. Every ReGen LIVE encoder connects outbound to RemoteGenius, so you can reconfigure streams, check status, and update settings from anywhere — no VPN, no port forwarding, no site visit. For encoders you already own, the ReGen Bridge provides the same remote access.
